generously on carpet and let sit for one hour before vacuuming.

Soothing Lip Care

*Red Clover Lip Gel;

(This is an old folk remedy for dry, chapped lips. You should be able
to find red clover blossoms at a natural food store. The flowers yield
a honey, sweet substance that has antiinflamitory and skin soothing
properties.)

1/2 Tblspn dried red clover flowers
1/4 cup water
1/4 tspn clover honey
1/8 tspn vitamin E oil
1/8 tspn cornstartch

In small pan, bring clover, water and honey to a boil. Boil for about
2 minutes. Remove from heat, the strain liquid. Return liquid to pan
and stir in oil and cornstartch, mixing well. Heat mixture until it forms
a clear gel (about 1-2 minutes). Cool gel completely, stirring occasionally.
Spoon into a clean container. Use on lips as needed.

*Bee balm for lips;

2 Tblspns grated beeswax
1 tspn sunflower oil

be careful to not overheat.

Dry Skin Remedies

Elbows, knees and/or feet;

*Soak in warm water (or best when in shower or tub) for about
10 minutes, then exfoliate with scrub or loofah. Rinse well and apply vaseline to area
when done.

*Soak elbows, knees or feet in warm water, apply mixture of 1/4 cup brown sugar and
1/8 cup olive oil and use as scrub on areas. Rinse well and dab on vaseline.

*Another mixture is fresh lemon juice and baking soda to make a thick paste, apply to
areas (elbows, knees or feet) and let sit for about 15 minutes. Rinse well and again
rub on the vaseline when done.

***(note) A moisterizer/lotion may also be used in place of vaseline but make sure you
have no cracked or open skin if you apply them as they can irritate the skin, besides,
vaseline is 10 times cheaper and works better! ***

Hands and face;

*The best thing 'hands down' (pun intended!) for dry, chapped or weather beaten hands
is a lotion called "Corn Huskers". This lotion was developed in 1919 for corn huskers whoms
hands were exposed daily to harsh weather and has been a big hit ever since.
I know people that use this lotion on almost every part of their body.

The next best thing is plain ole Sunflower oil. Yep, the kind you buy in the grocery store.
Make sure it's real sunflower oil, use it anywhere you have dry skin.

Lemon Juice
(make sure you get "real" lemon juice)

-Remove ink spots from cloth. Apply liberal amount of lemon juice
to the ink spot, then wash on normal cycle in cold water.
Clean microwave. Add four Tblspns Lemon juice to one cup water
in a microwave safe bowl. Place in microwave and let boil for five
minutes allowing condensation from lemon/water mixture to cling
to sides of microwave walls. Then wipe clean.
-Blemishes/Acne. Pour lemon juice on cotton swab and dab on
spots several times daily.
-Get rid of dandruff. Apply 1 Tblspn. lemon juice to your hair. Shampoo,
then rinse. Rinse again using 2 Tblspns with two cups water. Repeat every
other day until dandruff disappears.
-Relieve dry skin. Apply lemon juice, rinse and then rub in some olive oil.
-Relieve a cough. Mix 4 Tblspns lemon juice, one cup honey, and one half cup olive oil.
Heat five minutes, then stir vigorously for 2 minutes. Take one teaspoon every 2 hours.
-Clean brass, copper and stainless steel kitchen sinks. Make a paste with lemon juice
and salt. Scrub gently, then rinse with water.

Krazy Glue

-Remove ticks from inside ear of pasture animals or dog and cat. Put a drop of
krazy glue on broom straw, apply it to the tick and pull right out.
-Repair a broken fingernail. Use a small drop of krazy glue on nail where split
is. Hold in place until dry. Buff slightly, coat with polish. (a toothpick, used like
a small paintbrush can help you spread the krazy glue thinner and coat split area better)
-Fix leaks in inflatable tubes, air mattresses, air pillows, etc. Apply krazy glue to seal the
hole or leaky valve stem areas.

Aspirin;

-Squash an aspirin tablet and sprinkle over rust
stains on countertops left behind from aerosol
cans, let sit for 15 minutes before wiping up.
-Help bug bites by first wetting the bite with
water, then rub an aspirin tablet back and forth
over bite. This will help with the itch and swelling.
-Dissolve an aspirin in a glass of water. Gargle
with solution 10-20 seconds, then swallow.
Repeat following day if needed for soothing
a scratchy, sore throat.

Use Lotion if you run out of;

-Shoe shiner, rub a dab of lotion on each shoe and buff out well.
-Shaving cream, ladies or men!
-Liquid soap, to remove/loosen stuck on items such as rings, pipes
or other things humans tend to get toes and fingers stuck in!
-It's also great for static cling, dab a dot on your hands and rub in well,
then run hands through hair or over static clingy panty hose.
-Place some on your hands before putting on rubber gloves, it will heat up
and soften your hands while you work.

Clean dishwasher;

Squirt some lemon juice and the juice of an orange
in the detergent compartment of your dishwasher.
Run the dishwasher, empty of all dishes, through
a cleaning cycle and make sure you have the steam
dry button on!
This will freshen up, clean and make your dishwasher
smell great.
An added benefit to this is that when the steam
cycle is on, the whole room smells fresh!

Alka-Seltzer (or denture tablet cleansers);

1) Clean a toilet. Drop 2 in water, wait twenty minuts, brush and flush.
2) Clean a vase. To remove hard to reach dirt in bottom, drop in 2
tablets with water.
3) Polish jewelry, drop 2 tablets in a glass of water, immerse jewelry
for two minutes.
4) Thermos bottles. Drop in 4 tablets with water and let sit at least an hour
before rinsing.
5) Remove burned on grease from pot and pans. Fill pot or pan with water
drop in 6 tablets, let soak for 1 hour, then scrub.

by 1 cup of vinegar. Wait 30 minutes, then run hot water through.

In a clean spray bottle, combine;
1/2 tsp. liquid dish soap
1 tsp. lemon juice
1/2 tsp. baking soda

2 cups water

This is a great kitchen counter or bathroom surface
cleanser, proven to kill bacteria as well!

Peroxide;

(This is the 3% peroxide that you buy at the drug store)
1) Soak your tooth brush in a cup of peroxide to keep free of germs.
2) After rinsing off your cutting board, pour peroxide on it to kill germs and bacteria.
3) Add a cup of peroxide instead of bleach to your load of whites.
4) Clean mirrors with peroxide with 'no smearing!'
5) Wipe off counter tops, tables and other areas to clean and rid of germs.
6) Wash kids platic toys with 50/50 peroxide and water.

Windshield washer fluid:

9 cups water
1 cup isopropyl alcohol
1 Tbs. dishwashing liquid
*Mix together, then store in a plastic jug so it's
ready to use.

Drain Clog Remover:

Combine 1 cup baking soda with
1 cup salt and pour down the drain.
Follow with 2 quarts of boiling water.
Wait 30 minutes then flush with cool water.
(This is a foaming drain cleaner that works
just as well as the 'other' drain cleaners
but without the harsh chemicals)

Car Window cleaning solution;

(warm weather) 1/2 cup ammonia, 1 cup white vinegar and 2 tablespoons of cornstarch in a bucket.
(cold weather) Add 1/2 cup rubbing alcohol to above mixture on cold days to prevent ice from forming on windows.

Fantastic wood furniture polish;

Use 1/3 cup each boiled linseed oil, turpentine and vinegar. Mix together and shake well.
Apply with a soft cloth and wipe completely dry. Wipe again with another soft cloth.
"DO NOT" try to boil your own linseed oil! It's not the same. Buy it that way at a hardware
or paint store.

Heel marks;

Simply take a pencil eraser and wipe them off. A dry paper towel works
well also (with a little elbow grease).
