Welcome to my site!

Barn Braining was created from a 'barn storming' session! 
I had the idea of getting people together, finding alternative low cost energy methods, gardening, farming, organics, homesteading and much more!

Valentines day is coming, how sweet is that? So to
keep it sweet I'll be adding a few sweets you can
make for your sweet, (or for yourself) in the recipe file.

The East Coast was slammed by a huge winter
storm, many people including some of my family
and friends have been left without power.
We got 30+ inches of snowfall here on the
farm and some of the slopes/wind drifted
areas are even higher.
I hope that every one affected stays safe
and warm.

One person who called me, informed me that
her power had been out for almost 15 hours.
She placed all of her frozen food in a large
trash bag, sealed it and set it out on her porch
in the deep snow! Now, there's preservation
thinking! (Hopefully she has no wild animals
that may meander her way during the night.)

Many people further South and West are having
flooding problems. So for all of you, take care
to take care as well.

That groundhog Phil made the prediction that
we'd have 6 more weeks of winter, but I think
he was wrong. It'll take 6 weeks for this to melt!



**February's moon (on the 28th) is known by the
North and East native tribes as the "Full Snow Moon" ,
since most of the heavy snow falls during this month.
Other tribes referred to this moon as the "Hunger
Moon", since conditions were so harsh and hunting
was limited. (The 'new moon' for February is on the 13th)**
